Should I use a WhatsApp catalogue or a full online store?

Choose an enquiry-led catalogue when orders need conversation, availability checks or custom pricing. A full online store becomes more useful when customers can select a defined product, see the complete terms and pay through a reliable order process. The right choice depends on how your business actually fulfils orders.

Map the transaction before the design

List product options, stock handling, payment methods, delivery areas and who confirms each order. If those decisions are unclear, a checkout button can create promises the business cannot reliably keep.

A custom furniture order might need measurements and a quotation. A standard accessory with a known price and stock quantity may suit direct checkout. One business can use both routes if the distinction is clear to customers.

Compare the operational work

A catalogue needs current product information and a dependable response process. A store adds payment verification, order records, fulfilment states and customer notifications. Someone must maintain those functions after launch.

Do not assume that adding a payment plugin completes the system. Test successful, failed and interrupted payment journeys, then check what the business team sees when an order arrives.

Keep the customer informed

State whether the visitor is requesting a quote, reserving an item or placing a paid order. Show delivery expectations and any availability confirmation before creating a misleading sense of completion.
