An AI website builder can help produce a first draft, but a draft is not the same as a tested business website. The important question is whether you can verify the content, maintain the result and make every essential customer journey work. Some projects remain simple; others need development beyond the initial layout.
Separate appearance from behaviour
A convincing homepage can still contain an enquiry button that opens nothing, an unverified payment flow or content that misstates your services. Check the actual task from start to finish. A form should be tested through delivery, not judged only by its appearance.
Read all generated copy. Remove invented experience, unsupported results and services you do not offer. The site represents your business even when a tool drafted the wording.
Check what you can control
Can you use your own domain, export content, change metadata and retain access if you stop paying? What are the renewal and usage charges? Check the current provider terms instead of assuming every builder offers the same ownership or export options.
For a short event page with one clear action, a builder may meet the need. For customer accounts, business rules or third-party integrations, the system needs a more detailed design and testing plan.
Use a launch checklist
Review mobile layouts, keyboard access, real contact routes, page titles, image loading and error messages. Check what happens when a submission fails or the visitor loses connectivity. Save a recoverable copy of the site and document who owns each account.
I can help assess or improve a draft through my website design service and application development work. Explore selected projects or send your requirements. Read What makes an enquiry form easier for everyone to use? for one practical quality check and Who should own my domain, hosting and website accounts? for the ownership questions.
Use the tool to reduce repetitive work, then give the result the same scrutiny you would give any other supplier's work. The finished behaviour matters more than how quickly the first screen appeared.
